Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly
or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
- 2 Corinthians 9:7
Giving is a part of our worship to God. We give back from the blessings we have received. We honor our creator by the gifts we give, knowing that God is the source of those gifts. We give out of gratitude and love!
But in addition to being a part of our worship, giving is a necessity in order for a church to exist ... in order for us to offer mission and ministry ... and hope to all who come through our doors. Your donations ensure our church is here to serve the needs of our congregation and our community. Like all churches, we incur monthly expenses for overhead, staff, and mission work. All of these things depend on contributions ... your gifts and giving ... to keep us operational.
Here's the thing: it's not the specific dollar amount any of us feel called to give to the mission and ministry of this congregation. The most important thing is that we all give regularly from what we've been given. It truly matters less if that amount is $1 a week, or $10 or $25 or $100. What matters most is that each of us give faithfully regularly. It is the absolute best way to keep the church financially stable and able to do the work that we do. So pray about your giving. Let yourself be guided by the Spirit. And give cheerfully.
Thank you for your faithful and regular giving. It truly does make a difference.
