November Mission

Merrill Community Food Pantry

As many of you may know, the government shutdown is causing delays in benefits for families and individuals in need. FoodShare benefits will be delayed for November. While these benefits are not canceled, the duration of the delay and the number of people affected will depend on how long the shutdown lasts.

Due to this situation, we are shifting our Mission Focus for November from Christmas Spirit to the Merrill Community Food Pantry. The church will still host the Giving Tree, which will have the tags for purchasing gifts for children participating in Christmas Spirit. However, the monetary donations collected will now be directed to the Food Pantry. If you still want to give a monetary donation to Christmas Spirit, you can still do so, just make sure to write Christmas Spirit on your giving envelope to ensure we designate it properly!

Additionally, we will be conducting a Food Drive throughout the entire month of November. We have placed blue tote bags in the narthex for members to take home and fill with food items and/or pet food items. A collection box will also be available by the Scrip table.

Our church has always been dedicated to feeding our community, and this is yet another opportunity for us to come together and assist those in need. Our local food pantry needs help to keep up with the increasing demand. Thank you for your support in helping those in our community who require assistance.
