Are You New to Saint Stephens?

First of all ... WELCOME!

Are you new to Saint Stephens? Looking for more information? Considering a visit?

Well, the first thing you need to know is that, as we say so often,

"No matter who you are or where you are on life's journey, You're welcome here!"

And we mean that ... literally. So come on in! If it's summer, the doors to the sanctuary stand wide open on Sunday mornings, ready to welcome in whoever wanders in, either deliberately or, by God's grace, as the Spirit moves them.

The second thing you need to know is that we practice an "Open Table," so when you worship with us, all ... and that includes YOU ... are welcome to join in and receive Communion at our table. Come forward and take Communion with everyone else. You're invited.

Third, all of our programs and activities are available to you, whether you are or become a member ... or not. That means anything you read about within our website ... or in our newsletter ... if it is an activity, or a class, or an event or a volunteer opportunity, or whatever ... is something you are welcome and encouraged to join in, alongside of and with our members. Just fill out the necessary registration forms like everyone else and come and be a part of things here.

Speaking of our newsletter, our monthly publication is called The Interpreter, and it's probably the best to stay current on everything that is happening in and around Saint Stephens, in addition to attending worship, that is. You can subscribe to receive The Interpreter monthly via email ... no matter who you are. Just click here to sign up

If and when you decide you'd like to become a formal member of Saint Stephens United Church of Christ, the process is simple. Talk with a pastor or let the office staff know you're interested in joining. They'll give you a form to complete just so we can get your contact information, vital statistics, and get to know you and your family a little better. That will enable us to enter you into our database and be able to better support you as a part of our community.

When we have a group of individuals interested in joining, we'll schedule what we call "New Member Gatherings" which are, quite simply, a series of three gatherings, usually about a week or two apart, where you join us in a small social setting to get to know us and perhaps others in leadership roles in the church, some volunteers, and perhaps staff members, so you can begin to feel a part of things (and enjoy some great food and drink!).

Have questions? Call us at 715.536.7322 and talk with a pastor or a member of the staff. Walk into the office and do the same. Or email us. We'd love to get to know you better, and you are invited to become a member of the community of Saint Stephens!

Join us for worship any Sunday morning and become a part of our community. The Spirit is moving here, and if you're reading this, chances are the Spirit may be moving in you, too!

Jump Right In ...

We're pretty informal in lots of ways. We've combined a rich history of tradition with the relaxed atmosphere of the 21st century ... to create a church culture that embraces Christ, community, and fun ... and believes that we can combine all of these things in so much of what we do ... and the stories that we tell, about ourselves and the world around us.

We have lots of events going on at Saint Stephens ... from our annual Oktoberfest celebration in September, Treasure Sales, coffee hours after worship on Sundays, Christmas caroling, lenten soup suppers, Easter breakfast, and lots more throughout the year. Some of our events are organized, and other opportunities for fellowship (a fancy word for hanging out and talking and eating!) are more spontaneous in nature.

If any of these activities or opportunities you hear about at Saint Stephens appeal to you, jump right in ... get involved, get to know others, and have fun with us!

Becoming a member of Saint Stephens is awesome! But you don't have to be a member to belong here!
